A Little History
Founded in 1935 by the Steele family, Skyline Restaurant was originally known as "The Speck". The Lum family assumed ownership and then the Hom family purchased Skyline in 1977. The current owner, Michelle Nelson, whose Grandmother worked for the Hom family, bought the restaurant in 1999. Skyline Restaurant boasts at least three generations of patrons. Recently, a couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary here, where they had their first date.
Skyline Restaurant now accepts credit cards. We proudly serve locally-sourced products from Alpenrose Dairy, Franz Bakery, Fulton Provisions, Tillamook cheeses, as well as Coca-Cola products. Try Hollywood's Original Shirley Temple Soda Pop (headquartered in Portland) at Skyline Restaurant, too!

Work at Skyline Restaurant! We have three positions available:
Dishwasher/Utility Position (Portland, OR 97219)
Rate of pay: $15.45 per hour plus tips.
You will play an important part of our daily operations by ensuring our dishes, silverware, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, etc are always clean and stocked for both the Front of House, and Back of House Teams. Prior dish washing and/or other cleaning experience is preferred. We're looking for someone who can work independently as well as support the team. This is a high-volume position, and you will be expected to work cleanly and efficiently. No experience necessary; however, restaurant experience a definite plus.
Requirements:
• Food handler’s card is required upon employment
• Strong work ethic, team focus, and commitment to guest service
• Stable work history
• Must be able to work weekends
• Must be able to work nights (4-9:30)
• Kitchen staff must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must have reliable transportation (we are not located near any bus lines)
Expectations of dishwashers:
• Portion our sides for the cooks
• Make sure both the FoH and BoH are stocked with clean plates, silverware, glasses, and utensils
• Taking out our garbage and recycling
• Putting away deliveries
• Maintaining clean restrooms for guests and staff
• Mopping floors and cleaning mats
• Closing the dish area

After all, you know what they say - everything stops without clean plates and silverware. Prior restaurant/kitchen experience is preferred. We're looking for someone who can work independently as well as support the team. Hard work and a good attitude goes a long way. This is a high volume position and you will be expected to work cleanly and efficiently. No experience necessary; however, restaurant/kitchen experience a definite plus.
